At Precima, we are truly curious about how people shop, and we believe that strategic insights provide a significant impact on customer behaviour.
A nationwide survey went out in October 2015, where we asked 1,201 U.S. shoppers about their holiday purchasing experiences. We found that 90% of shoppers are open to visiting stores based on promotional items and incentives. This is great news for retailers, due to the vast number of opportunities in winning over this segment.
Optimizing promotional strategies by leveraging tailored customer data is what helps win over shoppers. Shoppers today are more open to exploring various potential offers, many of which don’t necessarily align with holiday traditions. We found that despite the fact that 90% of those surveyed are still having a traditional turkey meal, they would prefer customized offers based on their shopping preferences over a free turkey.
