Grocery e-commerce in Western Europe: What do consumers want?

Western Europe is considered to be one of the most developed online shopping regions in the world, however our survey of 4,000 shoppers conducted in February 2017 in four European countries – the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, and Germany, found that most Europeans still prefer to get their groceries from brick-and-mortar shops. 92% of respondents said they buy their groceries at the shop.

While UK takes the lead in adoption of e-commerce, interestingly, consumer demand for online grocery shopping is not at same level in Spain, Netherlands and Germany.
